Spiderbrain Product Release v0.5.88 - A redesigned desktop experience with Impact Analysis
Spiderbrain 0.5.88 has arrived, bringing our most significant desktop release to date. This update introduces a completely redesigned workspace, seamless in-app updates, and Impact Analysis, a new capability that helps you understand exactly how a dependency affects your project before you commit to it.
Here's what's new.
A redesigned workspace
Spiderbrain now makes better use of your screen with a refined three-pane workspace designed for speed and clarity.
Projects are always within reach in the center pane, while a dedicated inspector on the right surfaces everything you need to know about the selected project. Every section, including Sync Status, Determinism, Analytics, GitHub Publishing, and MCP Connections, now displays key information directly in the header, making it easy to understand the state of a project without opening every panel.
The result is a cleaner interface that keeps important information visible and your workflow uninterrupted.
Introducing Impact Analysis
Adding or upgrading a dependency should never feel like a leap of faith.
With Impact Analysis, Spiderbrain evaluates a dependency before it becomes part of your project, showing:
- Which files are affected
- Which existing packages may conflict
- Whether the result is fully deterministic or based on derived analysis
Everything runs locally on your machine. Your source code never leaves your environment. Spiderbrain stores only a compact, source-free analysis report.
If a repository uses a language we do not yet support, you can submit it directly from the app. Those requests feed our language roadmap, ensuring we prioritize support for the ecosystems our community uses most.
Updates without restarting
Keeping Spiderbrain current is now effortless.
Whenever a new release becomes available, an Update Spiderbrain card appears automatically in the left navigation. There is no need to restart the application or manually check for updates. Simply click once to install the latest version.
A more polished experience
Several areas of the application have also been refined to improve everyday usability.
- New Project now sits at the top of your project list for quicker access.
- Settings and Rate Spiderbrain have moved into the navigation footer.
- A new Get Help menu in the title bar provides quick access to support and ticket creation.
- The Account section has been redesigned, alongside a new Refer a Friend page.
- A dedicated Notifications center keeps releases and product announcements together, complete with unread indicators.
Built for reliability
This release also includes important improvements to account stability.
Founding Member benefits are now applied consistently during onboarding, even if a temporary session interruption occurs immediately after sign up.
We have also strengthened entitlement validation so Pro accounts remain secure. Temporary connectivity issues or isolated entitlement checks can no longer incorrectly downgrade an active subscription.
